Pristina, 12 December, 2023 - The European Investors' Council (EIC) has published the 2023 White Book, a document published for the fourth consecutive time annually, which summarizes recommendations from existing investors in Kosovo across various sectors, highlighting the need to reduce barriers to doing business in Kosovo, improve the rule of law and tax procedures, and promote fair competition in the free market economy.

This publication is an important step in strengthening public-private dialogue, as it offers concrete recommendations for improving the business climate in Kosovo, based on the experience of the investors themselves.

During this event, the First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, expressed his appreciation for this initiative, stating that all recommendations will be carefully addressed by the relevant institutions. This step was valued as a significant contribution to strengthening public-private dialogue.

The Executive Director of the European Investors' Council, Emrush Ujkani, and the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, emphasized the role of the White Book in promoting reforms in line with EU standards, with the main goal of improving Kosovo's image to foreign investors.

Speakers at this event also included the Chairman of the EIC Board, Genond Mesareja, the representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Leader in Kosovo, Sergiy Maslichenko, and the representative of the European Investment Bank, Konstantinos Mastrogiannopoulos, who welcomed this initiative, expressed their support, and valued the significant contribution of the White Book in improving the business climate in Kosovo.

Representatives of EIC member businesses, who are also contributors to the White Book, briefly presented their recommendations at this event to help improve the business climate in Kosovo. They addressed the need for changes in various sectors, with emphasis on the banking sector, finance and sustainable economy, telecommunications, taxes, insurance, mining, pharmaceuticals, oil, and information and communication technology.

The European Investors' Council continues to engage in supporting Kosovo through strategic advice and investments aimed at building a brighter future for all its citizens.
